The Yorkshire On-Land Boating Club

The Yorkshire On-Land Boating Club travel deliberately slowly along roads, down canals, and through fields. Causing an obstruction in the road, we push our boat from place to place and stage spontaneous events, actions and performances which reflect the things that we value. In return we ask those we meet along the way to decorate the boat with the things that are important to them.

Anyone can join the club. When you join you will have the opportunity to write a message on the boat telling us what you value. You will receive a club membership card, an invitation to join us on the road, opportunities to eat with us at club meals, and the chance to attend socials such as the Yorkshire On-Land Boating Club Pub Quiz! It's free to join ... go on!

HEAVE 2009 is the Yorkshire On-Land Boating Club's main event for 2009. It will take place in the last three weeks of July.

HEAVE 2009 will begin and end with a meal. We're from different communities, but we all need to eat. On Sunday lunch, at 7 arts in Chapel Allerton, Leeds , our boat will be named, blessed and launched.

Our sailing circuit will take us north from 7 arts to Harrogate, Knaresborough and Boroughbridge. We will then turn westwards to Ripon before crossing the Yorkshire Dales through Pately Bridge to Bolton Abbey. Turning south we will then head to Keighthley and Bradford before returning to Leeds. If you live or work anywhere on this circuit please let us know. We may be able to pop in and see you along the way!
