We were told we shouldn’t do it, but we did it anyway… for 22 days we pushed our land boat along roads, down canals, and through fields.
The journey began with a list our values; disrupting the norm, good design, hard work, creativity, silliness, mistakes and many more. We wanted to make a map of values, both our own values and the values of the other people we met along the way. So we started a club; the Yorkshire On-land Boating Club.
The Yorkshire Onland Boating Club Documentary DVD is now available to buy through our website featuring Pointed Arrow's 100 mile boat-pushing journey through the cities, towns, villages and dales of Yorkshire. The DVD paints an extraordinary portrait of a people and the county in which they live.

This documentary film tells the story of Pointed Arrow Performance’s 2009 journey Heave. The Yorkshire On-land Boating Club recruited more than 100 volunteer boat pushers and collected over 2000 values on their land boat. They pushed through the cities, villages and countryside Yorkshire on a 105 mile, 22 day journey to explore the values of the region they live in.
Pointed Arrow Performance is based in Leeds, West Yorkshire. They are interested in how places shape, define and inform a sense of self for the people that inhabit them.
