Pointed Arrow was formed in 2004. The core creative team are Simon Brewis, Dan Brown and Ellie Harrison who direct the company cooperatively.
Our work is often light hearted and irreverent in tone, drawing upon contemporary and traditional influences. We are driven by a desire to make a positive contribution to the people we meet and the spaces we navigate.
Themes include: national, local and individual identities; journeys; connecting past and present; boats and the sea; spirituality; the self; intervention; tea towels; pushing our luck and doing things we probably shouldn’t.
In our process we begin by listening to the narrative identity of a place and seek to understand how that place informs people’s sense of self. We map it’s cultural and physical topography then speak back to it creatively; often using sensory performance and immersive environments. We invite people to participate in our work and aim to facilitate a space where transformation can occur.
